The dinner features wines from the Kobrand Corporation and are paired with food created to highlight and emphasize the outstanding features of the wine and food. Keith Paden, State Manager of Iowa, Kansas and Missouri will lead us through the dinner.

In addition to the dinner, “Raise My Head” will offer a Silent Auction starting a week before the event and ending at 9 p.m. on the night of the dinner to help raise funds in support of the Foundation. All proceeds from the Silent Auction will benefit the foundation. Music during the reception provided by Joe Stumpe.

“Raise My Head Foundation” provides a safe, structured two-year residential program for women over the age of 18 who are breaking free from sex trafficking. The goal of the program is for these women to receive the services necessary for physical, emotional, and spiritual healing and renewal so that they are empowered to live a life of freedom and fulfillment.

Our guest speaker for the evening grew up in the family restaurant business in the Kansas City and Lawrence areas where he washed dishes during his grade school years and eventually worked all facets of the restaurant business. During his college years he worked both as a chef and sommelier. His family’s restaurant was the first Wine Spectator Award winning list in the State of Kansas. After 14 years with the family restaurants, he took a position with Standard Beverage where he was Vice-President of Fine Wines for 16 years. Seven years ago, he took a position as State Manager for Kobrand Wine and Spirits representing more than 60 Fine Wine and Spirit producers.  He enjoys teaching and talking about wine.
